  • For applicants pursuing postgraduate studies, a minimum of a first-degree qualification with Second Class Honours Upper Division is mandatory. Additionally, candidates must be enrolled as full-time students at Federal or State Universities.
  • Other applicants, including those pursuing undergraduate, Higher National Diploma (HND), and National Certificate of Education (NCE) programs, should be registered as full-time students in their second year or beyond at Universities operated by the federal or state governments, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
  • Undergraduate scholarship applicants, including individuals with disabilities, must demonstrate a minimum Cumulative Grade point aggregate (CGPA) of 4.0 on a five-point scale or 5.0 on a seven-point scale, or equivalent.
  • Candidates pursuing NCE and HND programs are required to maintain a CGPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.”

The eligibility requirements for the Bursary Award are outlined as follows:

  • Applicants MUST be enrolled as full-time students pursuing Education programs at Nigerian Colleges of Education and Universities.

All applicants, including individuals with disabilities, must have completed at least their second year of study. Furthermore, individuals currently benefiting from any existing scholarship program are not eligible for consideration.”

Application Process for Nigerian Scholarships

All eligible candidates are instructed to:

Navigate to the website of the Federal Ministry of Education at https://education.gov.ng and select the Federal Scholarship Board ICON on the Home Page;

Review the provided Guidelines thoroughly before proceeding to fill out the Application Form online; and

Once the Application Form is completed, ensure to print a copy for your records.

Please be aware that submitting multiple applications will result in disqualification.

Please provide the following documents:

  1. Letter of Admission from the Institution
  2. CGPA Transcript
  3. Certificate of Origin
  4. National Identity Number

The registration portal will be accessible from April 2, 2024, to May 13, 2024.”
