Adam Berry, a promising young winger, has bid farewell to Manchester United’s academy, marking the end of his 12-year association with the club.

Having progressed from the under-16s to the under-18s last season, Berry amassed 20 league appearances for the team during the 2022/23 campaign.

However, this season, amidst the under-18s’ flawless winning streak, Berry has found himself sidelined from action.

Taking to Instagram, Berry shared a reel expressing gratitude for his time at Manchester United, signifying the closure of a significant chapter in his life. Remarkably, Berry, now 17, has been part of the academy since the tender age of five.

Berry made his under-18s debut for Manchester United at just 15 years old in 2021, accumulating a total of 27 appearances, including two goals and five assists. Although he also earned a spot on the under-21s’ bench, he didn’t manage to make an appearance on the field.

At the international level, Berry boasts three caps for England at the under-17s level, having previously represented his country at under-16s level as well.

While Berry’s next club is yet to be officially confirmed, reports suggest he is likely to have offers lined up. Earlier in the season, he underwent a trial with Rangers, as reported by the Scottish Sun. More recently, there have been reports that Berry has agreed to join Burnley, as announced by a Manchester United Academy page. If this move materializes, Berry would join former Manchester United prospect Logan Pye, who made a similar switch to Burnley’s under-21 squad last summer.
